The Center for Requirements Excellence was created to increase the likelihood of project success, particularly for IT projects—those that involve business systems, software and/or hardware. According to the 2003 CHAOS Chronicles report from the Standish Group, only 34% of IT projects succeed. The annual cost in the US alone of project failures is estimated to be over $55 billion dollars (note 1)
Kris Ashton andStace Williams share a passionate belief in the importance of finding the right requirements the first time, every time. Colleagues for over 15 years, they founded the Center for Requirements Excellence to address a primary cause of systems project failures and rework (note 2) by assisting business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders to develop and manage project requirements more effectively.
In addition to first-hand, real-world expertise, the founders and their associates bring considerable perspective, clarity and practicality to the tasks of requirements engineering. With more than 30 years of combined classroom delivery and course development, Stace and Kris develop and deliver engaging and pragmatic learning experiences that help participants and their organizations deliver repeatable IT project successes.
